About Me
Kirstin Garriss is a "one-woman band" who can shoot, write and edit all her own material and has experience using DV cameras, iNews and AVID NewsCutter and Final Cut Pro news editing software.
Currently, she's honing her editorial and production skills as a Desk Assistant at NBC News in Washington, D.C. Over the past year, she's worked alongside producers, editors and correspondents, overseeing the MSNBC desk, produced at the White House on the weekends and managing the network desk as an overnight desk editor.
She's also in the process of applying for her first reporter job and she's very excited to transition into local news reporting. Along with being a "one-woman band," Kirstin is a multifaceted journalist who can publish her work on multiple platforms -- from the TV screen to the webpage. She knows how to use Twitter to break news, link stories on the web to Facebook and capture on the scene photos using her iPhone.

Kirstin is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication.
